China may actually be the most materialistic country in the world

I can admit that I would have been surprised by these findings 3 years ago, having lived in China now for 2.5 years I agree with the correlation made in the last paragraph. I would add that the starkness of the past 30-40 years of some of those emerging economies makes it likely that they experienced the want without ability to obtain followed by the means and ability to get it in the same lifetime. I think that would drive a different perspective than the established economies of the developed countries.
